The Western Michigan Gold Company Trio brings together three dynamic musicians whose distinct styles and backgrounds merge to create an unforgettable live experience. Known for their soulful jazz, and love for hard bop, it allows the band to dive deep into the roots of classic swing music. The band has captivated audiences across the Kalamazoo area with an electric sound that resonates deeply with listeners. At the core of the group is Jacob Nowakowski (Bartlett, IL) on bass, laying down bass lines that balance precision and soul. Jacob’s rhythmic mastery provides a solid foundation, grounding each piece with a pulse that listeners can feel in their bones. On piano, Nick Birchler (Grand Rapids, MI) combines jazz improvisation with a bluesy touch, weaving harmonies that both surprise and delight. Nick’s expressive style and instinctive feel for melody elevates every performance, whether he’s leading with a solo or complementing the rhythm section. Completing the trio is Chris Majure (South Elgin, IL) on drums, whose powerful yet nuanced beats drive the band's energy. Chris brings a natural rhythm and steady pulse to the group that is used to highlight the band's depth and richness. The Western Michigan Gold Company Trio continues to push boundaries with an unmistakable synergy that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Trio Triptych is a musical experience you don't want to miss. They bring soul and fire to the great Black American Music of Jazz. Putting a chord-less spin on many jazz classics from the experimental likes of Joe Henderson and Ornette Coleman to the jazz classics we all know and love by Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. Bassist Max Fraser, from Detroit, leads the group from the back, pushing the harmony and time forward in new ways. Saxophonist Miles Lekan, of Kalamazoo, brings the fire with blazing lines and beautiful melodies. And drummer Elijah Cosby, from Grand Rapids, holds it all together and breaks it down, adding new wrinkles to fabric of the time. These white boys don’t play around with their love for BAM and will give you a night you won’t forget.
