Sounds of The Zoo Festival: Opening Night Soiree at Jerico
Join us for the Opening Night Soirée for the Sounds of the Zoo Festival at Jerico! It will be a celebration of music, art, and creative community.
Sounds of the Zoo is a multicultural music festival and symposium that seeks to empower and unite artists, industry professionals and music lovers from around the world.
On opening night of the festival at Jerico, we will be joined by local musicians for several free performances at The Clover Room, and a free workshop on Preparing to Record with Ian Gorman at La Luna Recording. Between shows and workshops, browse and shop from a selection of local artists vending in the Jerico Workshop Room, and view an exhibit of photographer Fran Dwight's images of local musicians in the Jerico Gallery. Fiddle Leaf Cafe will be open late, serving a special dinner menu alongside their usual specialties!
The Schedule:
5pm: Fiddle Leaf Cafe opens with a special dinner menu and quality beverages including a one night only collaboration mocktail with The Elixir Fixer! Browse and shop from local artists in the Jerico Workshop Room, connected to the cafe or view the exhibition of Fran Dwight's photography of local musicians in the Jerico Gallery, right outside The Clover Room.
6pm: Head over to The Clover Room for a Singers in the Round Experience featuring Michigan Artists Kanin Wren, Sammie Hershock, and Darcy Wilkin.
7:30pm: Head next door to La Luna Recording & Sound for the Preparing to Record Workshop with Ian Gorman. Or visit Fiddle Leaf Cafe and the vendors in the Jerico Workshop Room before they close at 8:30pm!
8:30pm: Head back to The Clover Room for Act 2 of the Singers in the Round Experience, this time featuring local musicians Dylan Tolbert, Jessica Ivey, and Hannah Rose Graves.
Finish the evening wandering our native pollinator gardens, viewing the photography exhibit or spending some time with Jeri the Jerico cat as we bid you farewell to a wonderful evening at 10pm!
