Woodworking Essentials – June (Women & LGBTQIA+)
SATURDAY, JUNE 10, 9AM-3PM
COST: $265
Yes, you can build, too!! Whether you are completely new to tools, or have been DIY’ing home projects for years, this is the class for you!
This one day class is a safe, supportive environment for you to be fully you as you explore new tools, learn new skills, and inspire yourself and others with your imagination. This class will introduce you to all the skills and tools you will need to be successful at building DIY home projects.
We will chat about shop safety, try our hand at a variety of tools, and work on an individual project, which you will take home at the end of class.
Is This Class For Me?
This class is designed for absolute beginners with little to no tool knowledge as well as for those who have some experience and want to learn more. For those of you that have attended a Carpentry 101 class at The Dapper Hammer, this extended, day-long class will review, dive in, and build on the topics and skills we covered.
What I found in teaching Carpentry 101 was that a one-time two-hour class wasn’t quite enough time for everyone to get through their project, and without fail, whether folks came as absolute beginners or with some experience already, everyone wanted more! More time to learn the tools, more time to work on their projects, and more time to explore different methods of doing things.
This full-day class was born out of those classes and allows us to cover the basics and devote more time to each skill and dig deeper into all the questions people wanted to know more about. I designed this class with both the absolute beginner in mind as well as someone that has been through Carpentry 101 already.
The Dapper Hammer is an LGBTQIA+ owned school for carpentry & woodworking dedicated to offering classes to youth and the LGBTQIA+ community.
